Intro
Large, well-known businesses with a long history are excellent islands of safety for investors. When a company has a long history of paying dividends, this is an additional criterion of reliability.
But even the strongest brands with a long history can disappear or stagnate over time. Our task as investors is to ensure that we do not go down with the company.
Why does this matter? The more the company falls, the more it falls in price. If a company consistently and for a long time constantly, every year, increases dividends, then it becomes a participant in various funds that build their strategy on this.
Many investors build their strategies on dividend payments and their increase. Therefore, when a company announces a reduction in dividends, there is a sharp jump in sales and the price can fall even more.
At the Edge of Smart Dividend Investing
Our task is to identify a negative trend in advance and change the asset before it begins to fall en masse or dividends are canceled.
In this way, we keep part of the profit, increasing our overall profitability.
In this column, my team and I publish companies that are considered real dividend payout giants today. They regularly raise them... But is everything so good?
Remember Walgreens Boots Allians, 3M, Intel, AT&T. We predicted all dividend cuts by these companies in advance.
